Meet GT's iServe Superstars!
Glad Tidings Church is taking this opportunity to honor those who labor among us! We appreciate your dedicated service to the Lord.
The iServe Superstar this week is Charlotte Buell!
Charlotte's service is inspiring and she leads by example. She is the assistant to our Sunday School Director, Sheila Kratzer, and has been very faithful even in the midst of family sickness. She is a true servant, always honoring God with her life. It is my great pleasure to honor this awesome woman of God. Charlotte you are such an example of what a servant of the Lord really is. It has been wonderful to work with you!

Glad Tidings Church coming together in prayer for the nations...
Each week, this section of our newsletter will focus on prayer for the unreached people around the globe. We will travel the world over, nation by nation.
Join us this week as we pray for Denmark. We've included a little information below to consider as you pray for the people of this nation.
Denmark:
• Has a population over 5 million.*
• Over 80% of the population remain members of the Lutheran Church (the national church of Denmark), though 50% are reported to be agnostic or atheist. Pray for spiritual revival in the church.*
• A quest for spirituality in recent years has not led Danes to Christianity and faith in Christ, but to other spiritual beliefs.

Three Ways We Can Get Closer to God
What a powerful word we received this Sunday morning and night through evangelist Martha Tennison! On Sunday morning, she shared that “Trust is a Must!” She said the reason we don’t trust other people is because we don’t know them. She referenced her husband and said out of all the people in her life, she trusted her husband above everyone because she knew him. Do you trust God today? I mean really trust Him; in the good and the bad times, when things are falling apart around you, when heaven seems silent? Martha Tennison made the comment, “Don’t mistake God's silence for His absence!” He is a God who sticks closer than a brother!
The way that we can trust God is to know God. We need uninterrupted fellowship with Him daily. The only way we will know Him the way He desires us to know Him is to spend quality time with Him. No matter what you are going through today, God is able. He is faithful to be here for us, and to move on our behalf. But do you believe that about your God?
Here are three ways we can get closer to God:
1) Spend time in His Word. The Word is God, and we can get to know Him by studying and gleaning from the rich passages of Scripture that are always speaking to us.
2) Communicate with God. Talk to Him like He is your Father, because He is! You can have a regular conversation just like you have with your spouse or your best friend. The Word says that He inclines His ear to His children. He desires for you to talk with Him about everything. And don’t forget, let Him talk, also. We all know what it is like to have a one-sided conversation. So let Him speak into your life; it may take some moments of silence on your behalf.
3) Move in the fruit of the Spirit. When we are in line with the Word of God and displaying His fruit, then we are in harmony with heaven. The more you move in the fruit of the spirit, the more you will see Him; the more you will see Him move on your behalf.
Don’t work your time with God around your schedule, but work your schedule around spending time with God. He is our anchor in times of trouble and the joy of our strength. There is no other thing that is more important than time spent with Him, so make Him a priority. Remember, it is YOU that makes your schedule, so schedule your priorities first. If you don’t plan your day, someone else will plan it for you. Make the most out of your day by keeping God number one.
Trust is a Must, and the way you will grow in your trust is through making Him priority. |
