iServe Spotlight

Meet GT's iServe Superstars!

Glad Tidings Church is taking this opportunity to honor those who labor among us! We appreciate your dedicated service to the Lord.

This week our iServe Superstar is Sheila Kratzer!

Sheila Kratzer has been Sunday School Superintendent since 1999. In that time, she has grown our Sunday School program and has been very effective in finding gifted teachers and volunteers who have a passion for discipleship. Sheila is such a blessing to our church, and her leadership skills are beyond excellent. She is one of the most faithful and gifted people that I have ever worked with. It is a pleasure to recognize Sheila as the iServe Superstar of the week.

World Impact

Glad Tidings Church coming together in prayer for the nations...

Each week, this section of our newsletter will focus on prayer for the unreached people around the globe. We will travel the world over, nation by nation.

Join us this week as we pray for Botswana. We've included a little information below to consider as you pray for the people of this nation.

Botswana:

• Has a population around 1.9 million.*
• Devastated by AIDS. Has the world's second-highest prevalence. Over 100,000 AIDS orphans exist in the country*
• It is a rare African state - economic growth is steady, corruption is rare, and mulit-party democracy is the norm. Botswana has complete freedom of religion.

Pressing Through the Crowd

Mark 10:49 (NASB)

And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.”

Blind Bartimaeus was calling out to Jesus from the crowd. "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" The crowd was yelling back at him, "Be quiet, Bartimaus! Get back in your place, beggar!" They were essentially saying, "Bart, this isn't your moment. This is about Jesus."

But it was his moment.

Regardless of his limitations, regardless of the pressure of the crowd, regardless of his history of being shoved to the side as a beggar, Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, then he cried out again.

And Jesus stopped.

And Jesus called out to Bartimaeus.

Whatever you are going through today, whatever limitations you face, no matter what things the people around you are saying - call out to Jesus. Press through the crowd; push past the voices of doubt, accusation, and fear. Call out to Jesus, and find that He has heard your cry.

It is your moment with Jesus.

Friend, take courage, stand up! He is calling for you!
