Meet GT's iServe Superstars!
Glad Tidings Church is taking this opportunity to honor those who labor among us! We appreciate your dedicated service to the Lord.
This week our iServe Superstar is Benton Vizina!
Benton is a sophomore at Barbe High School and the leader of our media team for the youth department. He effectively leads about 10 other teenagers on a weekly basis to provide videos, sound, lighting, audio clips, and all things media for our youth services on Wednesday. He's been a faithful leader for almost 2 years now. He is an outstanding young man that is doing incredible things for God. Benton knows that he is called to ministry in the future but it is so exciting to see him doing ministry in the present.

Glad Tidings Church coming together in prayer for the nations...
Each week, this section of our newsletter will focus on prayer for the unreached people around the globe. We will travel the world over, nation by nation.
Join us this week as we pray for Armenia. We've included a little information below to consider as you pray for the people of this nation.
Armenia:
• Has a population around 3 million.*
• Was the world's first Christian nation.*
• Though a predominantly Christian nation, the traditional Armenian Apostolic Church often poses as an obstacle that keeps many of its members from discovering the living Christ.*
• Pray for the growth of evangelical Christianity and training up of spiritual leaders. Armenia is an island in a sea of Islam.*

The Place of Surrender
Hebrews 5:7-9
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, He offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission. Son though He was, He learned obedience from what He suffered and, once made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey Him..."
Sometimes we can lose sight of the humanness of Jesus. Our Lord is almighty, invincible, eternal! We worship Him as the exalted King of kings, seated at the right hand of God. He is our strong shelter, the hedge that surrounds us; the One who goes before us, and our rear guard. We are secured in Christ, able to approach Him in our weakness, confident that He alone is our strength.
Knowing this, really knowing this, though, doesn't mean we aren't touched by the pain and suffering of this world. Actually, quite the opposite is true.
Jesus said, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Things happen that we can't explain or understand or control. Being secure in Christ doesn't mean we put on a brave face and deny the grief of our souls. It means we do what Jesus did. We feel it. We cry out with fervent cries and tears to the One who can save us. It means that even though we are crushed by suffering, we aren't turned away. We plant our knees at the cross, the place of surrender, the place where we gain it all.
