During the first week of the fast, we will meet in the Worship Center each night (Monday through Friday) at 7 PM for a time of prayer together. Learn more about the fast here.

SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW YOUR BIBLE?
Join us every Wednesday in January as Pastor Perry leads us through some Bible quizzing. Also, if you have a Bible question you’ve always wondered about, submit it by Tuesday each week. These questions will be part of our "Ask the Pastor" segment. Here is how you can submit your question:

Meet GT's iServe Superstars!

Glad Tidings Church is taking this opportunity to honor those who labor among us! We appreciate your dedicated service to the Lord.

This week our iServe Superstar is Pam Brashear!

Pam has been a member at Glad Tidings since September 17, 2000. She has been involved as a Fusion leader, Altar Worker, and serves presently as our Head Greeter. Under her direction, she leads no less than 45 full time greeters every week where she leads by example with her awesome attitude, friendliness, and joy.

Pam is such a joy to work with. She is always prepared and so friendly to everyone she greets. Her greeters love her, and many at Glad Tidings are blessed by her warmth and smile.

World Impact

Glad Tidings Church coming together in prayer for the nations...

Each week, this section of our newsletter will focus on prayer for the unreached people around the globe. We will travel the world over, nation by nation. Today, we’ll begin with a short overview.
The world we live in:

• Has a population around 7 billion people
• Has about 16,350 people groups
• Has somewhere from 6900 to 13,500 languages
• The Joshua Project classifies over 40% of the world as "Unreached" by the gospel

In Luke 10:2, Jesus said, "The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest."

As we begin our journey together this week, let's take our direction from Jesus. Let's ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His field. We won't all go to Albania or Zimbabwe, but we can do our part, from A to Z, praying for those who do go, for their work, for the souls coming into the kingdom of God. Since Jesus compels us to ask, our prayers must matter. And through our prayer, we can engage our hearts in God's beautiful plan of redemption.

Lord, open my eyes to see the harvest...across the street and across the ocean. Send workers to fill the need. And, Lord, send me. Send me to share a word in due season, to offer comfort and hope, and let me always remember the great price You've paid to redeem the world You so love.

Devotional

Consider That...

Matthew 6:28-30

"...Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith.”

The beginning of the new year is a great time to regain focus, set goals, and start fresh. We can be pretty good at coming up with an exhaustive list of things to do to improve life. By January 3, we don’t even have time to breathe because we're working down the list of new resolutions: Eat more veggies, get in at least 20 minutes of exercise (let's throw that one in the mix...it sounds so good!), keep the house clean, yard trimmed, make time for the people in our lives, read the Bible, pray…By January 4, we're exhausted!

It’s not wrong to make positive changes. But sometimes we can get so focused on what WE are doing, we miss the amazing things that God is up to all around us. Like, leaning down to touch the grass and make it sing.

While we are trying and toiling, God is DOING.

How amazing is it that He didn’t exclude the grass when He painted this world with His beauty? I love that. “If God so clothes the grass of the field, will He not much more clothe you?” He didn’t overlook the grass…He certainly sees you right where you are today. Ready to clothe you, the one He loves, with every good and perfect gift.

Ah! Consider that.
