GT Pastoral Staff

Youth Pastor

Your Role at GT?
I am the youth pastor. I oversee students from 6th grade through college. It may sound crazy but I absolutely love it!

What's something God's been teaching you lately you didn't know before?
He's been teaching me about holistic spirituality. Sounds a little creepy but let me explain...

I understand that God cares about every facet of my life, not just the spiritual side. He wants me to be physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually disciplined so that I can be the most effective in shining his glory.

What is your favorite sound track?
Tough one... I would say a tie between "Across the Universe" and "Royal Tennenbaums"

What's on your iPod?
Since iPod's are so 2008 I'll answer by saying what's on my iPhone. Jesus Culture, Delirious, John Mayer, Mumford and Sons, Iron and Wine, Simon and Garfunkle, Phil Wickham, Shane and Shane, Hillsong United, David Crowder Band, Coldplay, Ben Harper, and many more!

What inspires you?
People who are volunteer or part-time youth workers.

What book has changed you the most (aside from the Bible)?
Tale of Three Kings. That book taught me more about myself and beauty of brokenness then any conference or conversation ever could.

What's your favorite style of music?
Indie/Folk music

If you knew you couldn't fail, what would you do?
Youth Ministry!

Got any favorite quotes?
"Our love is nothing but a hill of beans. But this is our hill and these are our beans." - Frank Drebin from the movie Naked Gun - Files of the Police Squad

Historical figure you'd like to have a chat with?
Jim Jones. I would like to ask, what drove his social wealth gospel, that started out for good, to be something so horrific and devastating to the kingdom of God.
